Just to let you all know that my dedication is on Friday may 5/16. I was going to do it on Beltane but I became very sick with cold and flu and sinus infection .... talk about fun! HAHAHA
The ceremony is of my own design and being done by the coven i belong too. I have written my own circle cast but using the quarter calls and dedication invocation traditially used in this circumstance. I am very excited with all the studying i have done to take this next step in my Path to being a witch my year and a day starts tomarrow!
Being I am new I still have much to learn... as we all do no matter how long we have been practicing.
I am not sure if I let you all know my witch name is Artimus Rowan at this time, and as all of you have done, may change in the future.
I have made many new friends here on Covenspace and wish you all well, Thank you for your help I have acquired on my journey thus far, Your opinions and Knowledge is appreciated and I hope we can continue to share many things as my years go on.

Just an update on things... my studying on Magick have slowed some I have blazed through books and read and re read many books.. I am fortunate to have a Job on third shift that doesnt require me to do anything really so the reading for 10 hours a night at work helped me do all that....
I seem to be more at peace with a time frame I thought I was under I thought must learn and know it all now I am feeling more like if I commit things to memory that is fine and If I don't it wont be the end of my world.. I always have the books to reference if things go wrong and my own Book of Shadows.... Magick has its time and place and Its not what you know all the time its who I am... I am Witch.. I am a good person and thats what really matters in the end.

I work third shift and been having trouble sleeping Iwas taking over the counter sleep aids but was always groggya nd drugged... My new discovery is chamomile tea! I had no idea it works so well. Ijust buy the Lipton Variety at my local walmart called Bedtime story and it putsme out if i have two cups.. actualy i get very tingly and almost drugged by it. Has anyone else had this experience with Chamomile tea? I am also a science based persona d Researched some of its effects.. you knwo the FDA doesnt research herbs for many reasons which i wont get into now BUT the scientific studies i found on the net if they are true are ASTOUNDING! Not only is there supposedly a chemical in chamomile that is a sedative but with a lot milder effects of course but reacted the same in the brain. Also it was researched to treat bowel ailments sauch as IBS with great results especially in children. The biggest one of all Anticarcogenic research is proving promising that chamomile is helping with certain cancers in research labs ... NOw this is all heresay from me of course but the cancers they studied where prostate and breast cancers, Was not a cure by any means BUT did help fight it in the study.
Okay so WOW is all i can think, I drank the Tea and my lips got tingly and numb and I sleep, usually witha bit of wild dreams nothing scary just erratic BUT it works and then i research and see all this stuff about it! how cool. of course if people are on MEds that treat these conditions The Tea would then possibly hurt you if taking and prescribed Sedatives and drinking alchohol and so forth.
Are there any Herbalists out there reading this blog? If so please please contact me I would love to know more about Herbal medicines and natural cures.. yes yes I know magickally we can use the vibrations BUt as all you witches out here know Knowledge is magick and magick is power the more you know the more we can do with it. I believe myself that medicine part of science and witchcraft can work together not sure how yet BUT im seeing its potential to do so.

I don't get much time to come on here.. Grumble.... BUt i do want to send out a note of thanks to all thathave been very sweet to me and to respond to my questions like you have. I have had a great sense of Friendship from all of you and feel Blessed by the Goddess that I have found this site. All due to my witch friend One With the Crows!! I thank her everyday at work for all the help she has given me in the short time I have known her... I couldn't have asked for a better friend and confidant.. I just wish we had more time to spend together to discuss more but I work third Shift and she works first I get to see her only 1 and half hour a day for 4 days providing we showed up at work on our scheduled days!! Heheheheh So you guys here have also been my sounding board and confidant so MANY THANKS to you all that have taken me under your wings so to speak also and extended warm wishes thoughts and Help when i have needed them. All your insight and information has been Greatly appreciated!
This is just a happy note to all of you whom read my Blogs and keep up with our lives on here. To tell you the truth I don't have time to sit and always send out fun messages to others and keep in touch BUT I wish i did and when i do get those messages I do smile so thank you for those that do that.
My studies are going wonderfully I have taken advise from so many I did buy the Bucklands Complete Book of Witch craft and have read it thoroughly already and am now in the midst of writing and devising my own spells so that research is keepping me busy.. referencing Herbs to use candles times and such there is alot to keep track of BUT I am happy to do it. The people recieving the healing spells I am devising will greatly benefit from them and with One with the Crows help I will be preforming them soon.. I have sick family members and friends that I am seeing need healing and KNOWING that i could do something instead of waiting for thier drs to make decisions has been bothering me... I think that is why I am studying so much so quickly I feel the need to help them... Goddess willing it will too!
Any other Healers out there that deal in spells for healing any Books you know of that will help me in my studies Iwould greatly appreciate the titles and authors so I can go get them to expand my knowledge and collection of growing books... GOOD thing i love to read!! =) I am also considering Reiki.. I have seen references to it everywhere. Does anyone know about it and is it Wiccan or something else I have read little about it and not sure if maybe my path should take me there instead or ALSO... I do know you have to get a teacher and the lineage of teachers is very strictly done everyone knows whom taught them and so on and so forth back to the original healer.
Other than all that I am doing well working and living and reading and enjoying being a Witch. I have not chossen a witch name nor taken my dedication so I dont even know if i can even call myself a witch yet But I am on the path none the less and will not deny its what I feel inside.

Up here in the midwest its getting colder every week and I do hate the winter so BUT it is what we deal with up here.. Snow and ice are already forecasted for this weekend which does put a damper on my plans I was hoping to hang out with the Coven I am friends with BUT if it snows and such i guess I will stay here and read or send out emails to my friends.. Hello all! Here I am again with some more questions!
I am told that I do need a magickal name. I have also been told that it is to be made from things that influence me and something I care about or helped me. I am also told that I was to use numberology to help with the name to make it as close to my birth number as possible. I am also told that no Im suppossed to get it from the Akashic Library and consult my spirit and take the name that it calls itself.
SO my question is how do we get our names and what information is true? Do i cunsult my spirit? a guide? Numberology? something close to me? animals minerals? so many people have an opinion that its left me with more questions than I think i started with. If i am to get it from teh Akashic Library how do I get there and find the information? Is there stones that help aide in going to the Akashic records i should get? well the questions Just keep on from there really heheheh.
All my informants mean well and I am not dispproving anyones method of obtaining a magickal name. If anyone out there has answers and a place to access the information i am looking for I would appreciate the finger pointing in the right direction so to speak.. a book perhaps.
